A quick note for my European customers
New EU consumer protection regulations taking effect on 19 June 2026 require online retailers to implement a specific electronic withdrawal process for EU sales. I've only just been advised of these requirements, with only week to go. The cost of compliance for this directive is higher than the limited revenue that comes from sales to the EU.
Given the short timeframe and the administrative overhead involved, I've made the difficult decision to suspend shipping to EU countries from 19 June 2026. My apologies for the short notice, but I have only just been told today of this change and the deadline.
This wasn't an easy call. I know the Scamp has a following among Forth enthusiasts in Europe, and I genuinely value those customers. If you've been thinking about ordering, now is the time, I can still ship to EU countries for orders placed before 19 June, so you have a few days to get your order in before the door closes.
Note for UK customers: this change does not affect the UK. I'll continue shipping to the UK and other countries as normal.
I'll review the situation in the future, and may reopen EU shipping in the future if a practical compliance path becomes available. Thanks for your understanding, and as always, the Scamp community forums and documentation remain open to everyone regardless of where you are in the world.
